Toti Cricket Club veterans head to nationals
The Amanzimtoti Cricket Club (ACC) veterans won by 8 wickets.
ON Saturday, March 5, the Amanzimtoti Cricket Club (ACC) veterans team took on Ilembe in the final of the T20 league at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium.

“Ilembe went in to bat first and made 143/5 in 20 overs. Opening the ACC bowling attack was Marc Shepard (25/0 in 5 overs) and Hendrik Nienaber (26/1 in 4 overs).
Hendrik Nienaber took the first wicket in his first over. Next came in Leon van der Westhuizen going for 30/0 in his 4 overs and Gustav Erlank 19/0 in 3 overs.
To finish it off, captain Melvyn Jackson came in, went for only 19, took 3 wickets and a run out of his 3 overs. ACC came in to bat next and was this a sight to behold.
Captain Melvyn Jackson scored an entertaining 93* runs with sixes flying all over the stadium. Bennie Benade got 2 runs and was bowled out in the second over.
Francois Strydom got an amazing 15 from only 6 balls, but got caught in the 3rd over. Desmond Hughes got 30*,” said ACC media manager, Yolande Benade.
The team will now go and represent KwaZulu-Natal in the national veterans league in East London. “All we can say is you lads made us extremely proud.
