Clothing store in Galleria robbed

The store was robbed by unknown armed men as it closed for the day.

A CASE of business robbery is being investigated by Amanzimtoti SAPS after the Edgars clothing outlet in Galleria Mall was held up on Friday, May 20.

Toti SAPS spokesperson, Captain Charlene van der Spuy said the store was closed and the manager was letting the staff out when he was accosted by six armed men who forced their way into the store where they instructed the workers to lie on the floor. The men were wearing masks and floppy hats.

“Two of the suspects took the manager to the cash office and removed R20 000 whilst the other four broke the display cabinets and removed branded watches and sunglasses,” said Van der Spuy.

The suspects fled the mall in two vehicles a silver Etios and a silver VW Polo.
