Re-opening of RPM Panel & Paint

The event was attended by staff, friends, family, prospective customers and members of City South Towing. Those who attended got to enjoy an open bar, a variety of meals and dessert, a tour of the new workshop, cars and more.

Nathan Pillay and his new business partner, Henk La Grange now are now co-owners of RPM Paint and Panel, after it relocated from Amanzimtoti CBD to a bigger premises at Southgate Business Park.

Henk, who has a background in mechanical engineering, decided to invest and go into a venture with Nathan, who has 18 years experience in the industry. He has worked for Toyota, Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen.

“We think Toti needs competition in this industry. We focus on quality and customer satisfaction. We want to bring new support to the industry. Not only are we here for competition, but we are here to provide a service to the community,” said Henk.

During the floods, they provided food, blankets and thousands of litres  of water to the Isipingo Beach and Amanzimtoti area. They also opened their workshop’s doors to those who were rescued by boats and needed somewhere to go.

“My goal for the future of the business is to provide a service for, and be involved in the community and surrounds, making it a community business. We want to be involved in charities and upliftment of the community such as with employment. I’m also wanting to open up a drug rehabilitation centre for the young children who are turning to drugs. People are quick to judge, but what they don’t realise is that there are many situations that lead them to do that. Although I can’t eliminate unemployment in the area, my goal is to try and employ and feed as many people in the area. That’s how we aim to create a charity-home system,” said co-owner, Nathan Pillay.
