Editor’s festive greeting to the community
South Coast Sun editor, Roelien D'Amico and staff wish all our readers and advertisers a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
WITH the cheerful sounds of Jingle Bells echoing through my mind, the time to celebrate surviving another year has arrived.
Christmas decorations adorn the halls of malls and social media is flooded with people proudly showcasing their Christmas trees. The joy of giving is still very much alive and present in our community. It is clear that everyone is eager to take a well-deserved break from the daily grind of navigating traffic and working long hours to prepare for this season.

While the spirit of giving fills the air, there is still so much to be grateful for. Despite the exhaustion that may feel overwhelming, the simple acts of being alive, witnessing another sunset and cherishing little moments with family and friends are all reasons to celebrate fully. Not everyone is this fortunate.
Enjoy the break, no matter how short it might be. Stay safe wherever your travels may take you, embrace your loved ones with gusto, hold them tight and remember those we have lost this past year. Open your hearts and set an extra place at the table for those who might be celebrating this time alone, without family or friends.
Additionally, remember the organisations that tirelessly volunteer their time, becoming the voice of the voiceless. They care for others when no one else seems to and give selflessly without any expectations.
As the SUN staff also prepare for a little downtime, we wish our loyal clients and readers a Merry Christmas. May the New Year bring joy, laughter, love and happiness.
Take care of yourself and those you love.
