Burst water pipe causes outage in Doonside

Municipality plumbers have been working since Saturday to restore water in Doonside.

Monday, October 31 marked the second day of no water supply in Doonside after a 200mm bulk-supply pipe burst over the weekend.

The affected supply line is between the Amanzimtoti waterworks and the Doonside reservoir. Ward 97 councillor André Beetge said that the City technicians isolated the pipe on Saturday evening.

“Plumbers worked Sunday and into the night to restore supply. We are presently awaiting feedback on the matter,” he said on Monday morning.
