PHOTOS: Kingsburgh Lions Club host musical quiz for a cause
The money raised from the sale of tickets and raffle money will be used for their Christmas project, to gift those less fortunate.
THE Kingsburgh Lions Club held a fun-filled Name That Tune pop quiz with music and dancing at the St Mary’s Church Hall in Warner Beach, recently.
The thought-provoking pop quiz consisted of two rounds. Three spot prizes were chosen using the entry-ticket number and four prizes for each team of four during each round. They also held a raffle for a donated red wine presentation set.

To add to the festivities, the guests were entertained with singing and dancing by Elvis Sunshine, Tony Marron, who is also the club’s president.
“We sold 50 tickets. The money raised from the sale of tickets and raffle money will be added to our funds and will be used for our Christmas project. Last year, we were able to provide 500 goodie bags as presents for the poorest children in our community. We also helped fund a Christmas party for them,” said Marron.
He said club members and friends did a great job decorating the room and providing a great atmosphere for the afternoon.

“The day was such an enjoyable success. I would particularly like to thank Lion René Matthews, our fundraiser, for her fantastic work in designing and providing most of the music-themed decorations,” said Marron.
The next fundraising event is a Father’s Day family fun day on June 18, at Mills Bomb Shellhole in Warner Beach, from 13:00 to 16:00. Tickets are R60 and under-16s are free. There is a cash bar and braai facilities. Bring your own meat and picnic. There will be silly, fun field games for the children, music and prizes up for grabs.
