11 wanted suspects apprehended in KwaMakhutha

The wanted suspects were apprehended during a crime-intelligence-driven operation and handed over to the Amanzimtoti Police Station for arrest.

A JOINT operation in KwaMakhutha led to the successful apprehension of eleven wanted suspects and the seizure of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition.

Charnel Hattingh, head of communications and marketing for the Fidelity Services Group, said a crime-intelligence-driven operation was recently conducted at a safe house in KwaMakhutha by security stakeholders.

“Eleven wanted suspects were successfully apprehended and handed over to the Amanzimtoti Police Station for arrest,” she said.

Hattingh said these suspects were linked to business robberies, kidnapping and extortion, and house robberies in the Amanzimtoti, Verulam and Inanda areas. “An unlicensed firearm and live ammunition were also seized during the operation,” she added.

Hattingh congratulated everyone involved in the joint operation for their great teamwork in bringing the criminals to book.
