The “Mother of all parties,” rocks Warner Beach
Five bands rocked Amanzimtoti with a mini-music festival, with one band returning after a years-long hiatus.
DUBBED the ‘Mother of all Parties,” a mini-rock festival rocked the house down at Warnadoone Ski Boat Club on September 5.

Five bands, including Sweetwater Rock Band, You First, Grim Riddle and Angst Party joined Basement of Wolves, which made a grunge and nu-metal-infused return to the stage after a years-long hiatus.
Rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for Basement of Wolves, Chad Porter, filled in on drums for the opening band in addition to playing bass for his other band, Grim Riddle, during the show.
He thanked the venue for offering a platform to musicians, especially for its monthly open mic, which provides a space for musicians to meet and collaborate.
“This being the first actual ‘Mini Festival,’ for the bands, it was a huge success. We had a great time as musicians and to see the support for local rock bands. For Basement of Wolves in particular, it was fantastic, especially after so long without performing. We even heard people sing along. We know that rock music is not for everyone, but it was incredible to receive so much support,” said Porter.
He extended a big “Thank you,” to Peter Hamilton Hoskins, one of the founding members of the Warnadoone Skiboat Club, who had the vision of musicians hosting a show like this for his 60th birthday party.
