Amanzimtoti fighters compete at the National Mixed Martial Arts Championships

Ten fighters from CombatCoaching.com will represent KZN at the MMA SA National Championships with the hopes of being selected to form part of the Protea team.

FIERCE fighters from CombatCoaching.com based in Doonside are set to represent KZN at the MMA (mixed martial arts) SA National Championships in Durban from April 18 to 21.

This event gives medalists from around the country a chance to qualify for the Protea team selection and the opportunity to represent South Africa at the IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) World Champs as well as the IMMAF African Championships. The three divisions are youth, junior and senior.

Among the contenders is CombatCoaching.com’s roster of 10 formidable athletes with seven returning from last year’s squad.

They are Machyla Tonsing, Zander du Plessis, Wian Conradie, Aidan Lancaster, Matthew Vermaak, Ethan Richards, Joshua Schravesande, Jazmin Viljoen, Ruben Tonsing and Marnus Fick.

Coach Morné Swanepoel said, “My athletes have been competing regularly and have been training for this event since the beginning of the year. It’s an honour coaching and training my students as they are committed and passionate about achieving their goals.”
