More than 2 000 criminals arrested

The police have come down hard on criminals in a drive to stamp out crime.

POLICE officers will not tolerate criminality. This is word from the provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, who said over 2 000 suspects were arrested last week alone.

She said even though prisons are full, they are on a mission to ensure that criminals are put behind the bars.
Mbele emphasised that the police are fulfilling their core mandate of serving and protecting the communities
without fear or favour.
