On April 4, Laiqa Ally, a Grade Seven learner from Mulbarton Remedial School, went to Limpopo to participate in the National Swimming Championships against winners from 17 teams from across South Africa. Laiqa won three medals: silver for the 100m breaststroke, silver for the 200m freestyle and gold for the 200m breaststroke.
