Warm hearts, warm meals, warm blankets for Moffat View

South Awakens NPO spreads warmth and hope by providing soup, bread and blankets to hundreds of vulnerable residents.

Residents of Moffat View and the nearby Springbok informal settlement received much-needed warmth and care when South Awakens NPO hosted a community outreach on July 16.

With support from Shoprite and Moti Cares Group, the organisation distributed more than 500 cups of hot soup and loaves of bread, along with 200 blankets to vulnerable community members.

South Awakens NPO founder and director, Lanchia Jasson, said the organisation has been serving communities in need since 2017 with the help of dedicated volunteers and generous donors.

”There are always people who need support, and we do everything we can to assist them. Today we are reaching residents of Moffat View and the Springbok informal settlement. Sponsorships and donations are always welcome because, without them, we cannot continue helping those who need it most. We are sincerely grateful to Shoprite and Moti Cares Group for their generosity, and we hope more organisations will partner with us so we can continue making a difference in our communities,” said Jasson.
