Music lovers are in for an unforgettable afternoon as the acclaimed Harmonia Girls Choir presents a live concert in collaboration with the prestigious UJ Choir on September 12 at Alberton South Dutch Reformed Church.

The concert, under the theme ‘A Sound Mind – One Voice. One Purpose. One Harmony’, starts at 14:30 and runs until 15:00 and promises to showcase the power of choral music through a diverse programme featuring both choirs, as well as performances by some of Alberton’s top high school choirs.

Also featuring are Hoërskool Alberton Girls Choir, Hoërskool Dinamika Choir, St. Catherine’s Mixed and Boys Choir and Bracken High Choir.

According to Harmonia, the event aims to inspire young singers and the community through harmony, teamwork and musical excellence. The collaboration between Harmonia and UJ Choir is expected to be a highlight, bringing together youth and university voices in one powerful performance.

The choirs will also be part of a workshop from 11:00 that same day, led by the UJ conductor, to inspire healthy, social relationships through singing and being part of a choir. Young adults and high school learners are invited to attend this workshop and join a mass choir at the end of the concert.

As one of the best University Choirs in South Africa, the UJ choir has been invited to participate in the World Symposium of Choral Music in China at the end of August.
