Tyrell Meyers conferred with title of Alderman after 15 years of service
From PR Councillor to shadow MMC: Meyers' journey to Alderman celebrated.
Ward 23 Councillor Tyrell Meyers has been conferred the prestigious title of Alderman in recognition of his dedicated service to the residents of Johannesburg.
The ceremony took place on August 31 at the City of Johannesburg Council Chamber in Braamfontein.
The honour is a well-deserved recognition of 15 years of dedicated public service to the City.
Meyers was first elected as a PR Councillor in 2011 and has since built an impressive track record of leadership and commitment.
Over the years, he has served as a Ward Councillor, Chairperson of the Section 79 Transport Committee, Chief Whip of Council, Shadow MMC for Transport, and now as the Shadow MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services (EISD).
Colleagues have described his journey as a reflection of service, leadership and unwavering commitment to the City of Johannesburg and its residents.
The title of Alderman is reserved for long-serving councillors who have demonstrated exceptional service to local government.
