All this in name of ‘minimum wage strike’ although the main march was in Johannesburg CBD, they vented their frustration in the streets of Turffontein.

Ward 124 Clr Mongameli Mnyameni condemned the turmoil that happened in Turffontein, especially in Hay Street. “All people were supposed to go to town where people leading the march are at. There is no reason for people to destroy properties when they are not happy with something. Yes people have the right to protest or march however that comes with responsibility. That was supposed to be peaceful and not destroy what they have already had because they want what they don’t have,” he said.
