GALLERY: Sue Lubbe celebrates by giving back

When it is all about giving rather than receiving.

Sue Lubbe from Sue Lubbe and Friends, a well-known charity organisation, recently celebrated her 72nd birthday.

She decided that she wanted to celebrate by giving back to the community.

On February 13 she treated the seniors of Mothwa Haven in Rewlatch to a morning of treats at Wimpy The Glen.

The seniors also each received a gift bag with special Woolworth’s soap, an adult colouring book, Lindt chocolate, pens, sweets and other treats.

Counsellor Faeeza Chame from Ward 57 joined in the celebrations and Sue decorated the area with red and white balloons and hearts.

It was a festive morning, with laughter and joy, enjoyed by all.

Pick n Pay The Glen sponsored and supplied sandwiches, cake and other delicious snacks, while Wimpy sponsored coffee, tea, and juice.

“Today is about giving back, and it is all about making a difference to the seniors, an opportunity for them to get out and enjoy a special morning. Instead of receiving gifts it’s about giving gifts,” Sue said.

“I want to thank Pick n Pay and Wimpy for partaking in making this a possibility.”
