Ride to save a baby

Ride the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge on Sunday November 17.

DOOR of Hope is encouraging bike riders to join their team to ride the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge on Sunday November 17.

At least five babies are abandoned every day in Johannesburg alone.

Help The Door of Hope to care for 60 abandoned, unwanted babies. Together we can give these precious babies “hope” and a bright future.

Georgina’s Story

Georgina was the first arrival to the Door of Hope, Hillbrow in August 1999.

She was 14 months old, neglected and food deprived. Her mother had brought her to The Door of Hope.

At first they thought she may be brain damaged due to an abnormal protruding forehead and she did not speak. They proceeded to give her lots of love and care, prayer, good nutrition and therapy. In time, she was adopted by a wonderful couple in the USA.

At 14 years of age: Georgina has been identified as an academically gifted student, she plays the violin and piano and has taught herself to play the guitar a little. Singing is her real passion though. She sings all through the day and night and sometimes she sings in church. She has sung to groups of a few dozen to several thousand.

Recently she was awarded a solo part in the world famous Virginia Children’s Chorus and had the opportunity of singing in the Royal Albert Hall in London with an accompanying symphony orchestra. Georgina continues to be a symbol of hope to all abandoned and orphaned children.

Only God knows what type of leaders are being prepared as life’s paths are changed by the touch of the Door of Hope Children’s Mission.
