Decomposing body could be missing girl
A GRUESOME discovery was made by community patrollers who then notified the police after they found a decomposing body of a young woman, south of Johannesburg.
The identity of the woman, which has not yet been determined, is suspected that it could be missing 21-year-old University of Johannesburg student Palesa Madiba. She has been missing for four weeks since her disappearance on August 12.
Clothing worn by the woman somewhat matches the description of what Palesa wore on the day that she was last seen; a blue blazer, orange top and blue denim jeans. The woman was dressed in a blue jersey, black skirt, pink socks and slippers.
However, Palesa’s mother reportedly said that she didn’t recognise the description of the above mentioned clothing found on the body. On September 13, her family and friends were joined by community members in the south of Johannesburg where they held an outreach programme, distributing pamphlets and T-shirts with Palesa’s face to residents in the area.
Concerned social networkers have, since hearing of the news of Palesa reported missing, been sharing alerts of the missing student which details her description and what she was last seen wearing, all in hopes to speed up her safe return home.
Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela, who spoke on behalf of the Soweto SAP, revealed that the body had been sent for a post mortem.
