Bellavista tackle drugs through sport in Ward 55

Community of Bellavista join hands to fight substance abuse in the area.

BELLAVISTA – A Social Awareness and Local Drug Action Committee was launch at Bellavista on Saturday October 26, its aim was to forewarn the community about the scourge of drug abuse in the area.

The event was hosted by Ward 55 in partnership with various stakeholders.

Various soccer teams attended as well as Cotlands Toy Library van.

Louis Human commended all the stakeholders who participated in the event.

“This event is to create awareness in and around all social ills that drag our communities down. Unemployment is one of the major contributing factors. This contributes to substance and drug abuse. These factors are destroying our communities,” said Clr Rashieda Landis.
