Residents advised to ‘up’ their security

With the Festive season fast approaching, Community Policing Forum – Mondeor Police Station is advising all residents to ‘up’ their security.

MONDEOR:  “SAPS and security companies can only protect us as much as we protect ourselves. Make sure you have a remote panic button that you can carry with you around the house and please ensure you have an alarm and are connected to a security company.

“Make sure you sleep with the alarm activated at night and if you are able to have small dogs it’s a good idea to keep them in the house during the night.

“Don’t sleep with your windows open. Rather try to use a fan or aircon and don’t forget to test your alarm monthly. Also make sure your cellphone, keys and handbags are always taken with you to your bedroom at night. Be safe and take care,” says Michelle Pelser from Community Policing Forum – Mondeor Police Station.
