*Our Ndaedzo thrives. Meredale resident Ndaedzo Neville Nethonzhe (NNN) has lived in the South for 15 years and he loves the ‘hood dearly.

*Double header on your doorstep. The first ever double header (soccer and rugby) was announced to honour Mandela at FNB Stadium.

*South Hills flats fenced. According to Ward 57 Clr Ms Bev Turk, Housing Department in the South embarked on a project to fence and paint the flats in South Hills and Moffatview.

*Milestone at Regents Park Primary School.  Another milestone for Regents Park Primary School as it was selected as one of the 12 first public schools to receive the Infundo-SA Pilot Project in the province.

*Heavy Metal scoops July. Heavy Metal pipped the full field to take honours at the 2013 Vodacom Durban July. At the same time S’manga Khumalo made history as the first ever black jockey to take this coveted prize on Saturday July 6 at Greyville.

*Special Ramadaan for the Southerners. This year’s Ramadaan was special for the Muslim community in the South as they had another place to worship. According to Shareefa Oosthuizen the Mosque in Elandspark was opened for them at the start of this year’s Ramadaan on Tuesday July 9.

*His car stays in his lounge. Turffontein’s Tony Martins’ car (1933 Austin) lodges in his lounge since he bought it.
