Looking back over the year 2013
December came with its own ups and downs, here's a look back at everything that went down.
December
*UCPA hosts Christmas party for children. Staff and residents of the United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA) joined in the festive season spirit and hosted a Christmas party at their residence.
*Lions celebrate 50 years of service. Some of our suburbs have the potential to be really beautiful and therapeutic to live in.
*Suspicious activity on satanic ritual koppie. The suspicious behaviour of an unknown man on a koppie known to residents to be the hub of dubious, illegal and in some cases deadly incidents, comes under the spotlight yet again.
*Christmas toy run gaining momentum. What started as a goodwill deed to make a little boy’s day special, because he was booked to spend Christmas Day in hospital, has turned into a Christmas Toy Run that has received an overwhelming number of donations from good Samaritans.
*Tribute Message to Nelson Mandela – by Neil Diamond, ANC member. On the evening of December 5 the world lost one of the greatest leaders of our time – Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
*Linmeyer CPF finds dumped ARVs. When Linmeyer Community Policing Forum (CPF) coordinator Don Hooper conducted the daily security check that he and his officers conduct regularly on the infamous koppie, he was prepared for anything.
