Successful SAPS arrests in Moffatview

During the week of 25 December 2013 to 5 January 2014 Moffatview SAPS arrested 57 suspects for various crimes.

MOFFATVIEW – During the week of 25 December 2013 to 5 January 2014 Moffatview SAPS arrested 57 suspects for various crimes:

Attempted murder – three, assault common – two, assaulting a police officer – one, assault under domestic violence – three, assault GBH – seven, business breaking – one, common robbery – four, fraud – two, house breaking and theft – one, illegal immigrant – three, interfering with police duties – two, malicious damage to property – four, possession of drugs – six, possession of suspected stolen goods – two, reckless and negligent driving – three, shoplifting – three and theft – 10.

Two suspects arrested for stealing tyres and rims

On Monday January 6, Cst Ngogela and Cst Ledwaba were patrolling at Eleazer Street when they spotted a blue Mazda 323 with no registration number. They stopped to see what was happening; four coloured males got inside the car and drove away. The police chased the Mazda and tried to stop it but they kept on driving. One of the males jumped out of the car and ran into the bush. The members continued chasing them and caught the car at Mather Street, where the suspects started running on foot. Cst Ngogela decided to jump out of the car and started chasing the suspects. He managed to catch the two suspects and decided to take them back to where they left the Mazda. The police searched the car and found two tyres with rims.

Cst Ngogela and Cst Ledwaba took the suspects back to Eleazer Street, where they found a Mercedes Benz with no wheels. Next to the car was a wheel spanner. The suspects were arrested and taken to Moffatview SAPS.

Suspect arrested for possession of drugs

On Tuesday January 7 Cst Baloyi and Cst Netshisaulu from the Flying Squad were posted at Moffatview for patrols. At about 10:40, while they were patrolling at Tulisa Park, they received information from a member of the public about suspected drug dealing in the same area. The members proceeded to no 1 Austin Road, Tulisa Park. On arrival they found a black male. They explained to him why they were there and asked for permission to search him; they found one clear plastic item with 11 clear ziplock bags containing some substance in his jeans. The suspect was arrested and taken to Moffatview.
