MOFFATVIEW – DDuring the week of January 19 to 26 Moffatview SAPS arrested 66 suspects for various crimes:
Assault common – three, assault under domestic violence – one, assault GBH – three, business breaking – one, common robbery – three, dealing in drugs – 10, drunken driving – eight, fraud – four, housebreaking and theft – two, illegal immigrant – seven, malicious damage to property – four, rape – one, reckless and negligent driving – one, shoplifting – eight, theft – eight, trespassing – one and warrant of arrest – one.
One suspect arrested for drugs
On Wednesday January 29, W/O Mothupi and Cst Masonto from the flying squad were posted in the Moffatview area for patrols. While they were patrolling along Lawn Street they saw an African male standing around. They stopped and asked to search him. Cst Masoto searched him and found two clear small plastic bags containing white substance suspected to be drugs in his right front pocket. The member asked the suspects what the substances were and he mentioned that the substance was drugs which he had received from his brother.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Moffatview SAPS.
One suspect arrested for assault common
On Wednesday January 29 reservists Lima and Funda were patrolling in Johannesburg Road. They were approached by an African male who told them he had opened a case of assault common and he knew where the suspect was. Reservists Lima and Funda proceeded to the Pink Panther, where the suspect was and the complainant identified the suspect and arrested him.
Moffatview SAPS would like to encourage members of the public: if you have opened a case and know where the suspect is, or suspect any criminal activity in your area, please give the police the information, so that they can go and make an arrest.
