Victims of fire assisted
Residents receive donations from organisations and individuals.
JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – 25 residents who lost their home to a fire when there was nobody at the home waited for help from organisations and people who wanted to donate things.
The COURIER has been receiving calls from individuals who had property to donate and NGOs such as Mother Teresa and WWW (Women With Wisdom).
The residents are still struggling to organise transport to collect these donations. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.
The cause of the fire that burned the clothes of children and adults remains unknown, but residents are trying to get on with life. Those who work have started going back to earning a living.
Some of the people who have called the COURIER are supposed to go to the home this week to see what they could give and talk to the residents.
Ward 124 ANC Clr Sydney Radebe was also due to donate clothes and blankets on Thursday March 10.
The COURIER will report about these proceedings in the next issue.
