Forgotten land in Boundary Road
A piece of land on the corner of Boundary Lane and Hartjie Street, is cause for concern for local residents.
OAKDENE – As Boundary Lane and Orpen Road have been taken over with new businesses and dealer franchises, the small piece of land on this corner has been left to become overgrown and a place to dump refuse and rubbish.
“We’ve put up with this mess for long enough now. We have complained to our ward councillor, Dennis Jane and he said he would put in a complaint to the health department but nothing has happened and the grass continues to grow to almost waist length. Apart from rats and rubbish, it’s becoming a safety hazard. We pay our rates and taxes just like everyone else and still have to put up with this unsightly mess.

“Across from here, car dealerships line the road and all looks good but cross over and it’s like you are living on another planet. It’s a disgrace. Now that Boundary/ Orpen have been re-tarred this section of land is letting the area down,” fed-up residents say.
