Mourners litter streets in Winchester Hills

Residents in Winchester Hills are furious with some of the mourners who attended a funeral on Saturday May 17, which was held in Kuneni Street.

WINCHESTER HILLS – According to residents, mourners dumped lots of polystyrene containers all along Maluti and Lebombo streets in Winchester Hills.

“After the funeral goers had left the area all we could see all along the streets were food containers. It’s despicable, disgraceful and detestable,” said one of the residents who lives in the area.

“The passengers of two double-decker Metro buses parked in Lebombo Street were the culprits of this despicable behaviour. Unfortunately, they were all African people.

“Most of the residents in this area try to keep our suburb tidy and the pavements well maintained. If this is what these South Africans think is the correct way to get rid of their rubbish, then our country is going backwards, not forwards. It’s a sad state of affairs,” the resident concluded.
