Gaping hole in pavement

GLENANDA – A manhole cover has been stolen on the corner of Glen and Edendale avenues, leaving a huge hole of about a two metre drop, which could prove fatal if a small child was to fall into it.

“It’s been like this for quite a while now. Glen Avenue is a busy road for pedestrians as domestic staff cut through from Van Beek Avenue to Vorster Avenue. This gaping hole is very dangerous, especially as the evenings become darker much earlier,” said a resident.
