A day of care and appreciation for seniors at Southgate Mall
The successful Pensioners’ Day activation brought seniors together for a morning of health, relaxation and meaningful community engagement.
Southgate Mall celebrated its senior citizens on October 2 with a successful Pensioners’ Day activation at Wimpy Court, held in recognition of the International Day of Older Persons, observed annually on October 1.
The event brought senior citizens together for a morning dedicated to their health, well-being and relaxation.
From 09:00 to 12:00, the elderly residents enjoyed complimentary refreshments, health screenings and gifts as the mall showed its appreciation for the older generation and the important role they have played in shaping their communities.
Several of Southgate Mall’s tenants supported the initiative by providing health and wellness services.
African Bank, Fola Health, iSurgeon: Cataract & Laser Vision Clinic, Romeo and Juliet International Hairdressing and Beauty, Southgate Dental and Wimpy SA joined the activation, offering services to encourage seniors to prioritise their health and well-being.
The initiative highlighted the importance of caring for and celebrating older people, recognising their contributions, wisdom and the foundations they have built for future generations.
Through this successful activation, Southgate Mall reaffirmed its commitment to creating meaningful experiences for its community and showing its senior citizens that they are valued, respected and appreciated.
