Working together to foil a robbery

Working together: The unity of Booysens Police Station, SA Rangers, Booyserns Sector One Neighbourhood Watch and residents made for a successful arrest.

It is with sadness that we announce that Vennon, who resides in Ridgeway Extension 3, had to experience an intruder, who entered his home while he was asleep on Thursday July 24 at about 04:45, from the roof.

He heard a noise and went to investigate after calling Booysens Police Station. The police officers who responded were there in a few minutes. Well done for a speedy service from Booysens Police Station. The intruders surfaced after the SAPS moved out. Vennon’s wife noticed something out of the ordinary in one of the bedrooms, when she pressed the panic button and called for backup from the Booysens Sector One Neighbourhood Watch via WhatsApp messaging. At 06:30 Vennon confronted the suspect in the bedroom. The intruder managed to escape the hands of the home owner. Booysens Sector One Neighbourhood Watch and Security Company SA Rangers managed to make a successful arrest when they were circling the area for the intruder.

I would like to say ‘Thank You’ to all the residents and the patrollers of the Neigbourhood Watch and to SA Rangers for always doing their bit to assist the community.

Due to the WhatsApp group that has being set up with our Neighbourhood Watch and Security Company, there was a speedy circulation of the stress call at Eldred Road in Ridgeway Extension 3. The suspect was apprehended and a positive identification made by the home owners. The support of Booysens Police was brilliant.

All the residents were very supportive towards the victims and assisted where possible to make them feel that they have everyone’s support as a team, we can bring these criminals to justice. Be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
