Son stabs and kills mother

Madume Choku from Naturena said the mother was a dedicated matron at Life Flora Clinic, and her corpse might have been lying in the house for more than two days.

A 41-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on Tuesday September 2 after confessing to stabbing his 58-year-old mother to death in Hamilton Street, Naturena Ext 19.

Neighbours confirmed that there had been a commotion in the house prior to this gruesome incident. Lele Qhamakoane, who frequents the house next door, said she heard the mother and son often having fights.

“My heart is sore to hear what happened. How could a child do this to his mother? The family had been acting weird and the dreadlocked son actually confessed to killing his mother!” she said.

A neighbour usually saw the deceased woman leave for work in the morning, but when her car was still in the yard, the neighbour stopped a police van and asked the police to check on her.

The police found the house locked, but they found the man at a nearby house, leading to his shocking confession.

It is unclear when the crime was committed.

Madume Choku from Naturena said the mother was a dedicated matron at Life Flora Clinic, and her corpse might have been lying in the house for more than two days.

“And the man did not even care that he had brutally killed his mother. However, he was arrested while on his way to the filling station to buy petrol to burn his mother’s corpse. Some neighbours said the man was an bi-polar outpatient,” explained Madume.

Mondeor Constable and Communication Officer Elizabeth Mnguni confirmed that the man was arrested and a case of murder has been opened at the station.
