Imperial and 94.7 encourage parents to donate car seats to a good cause
The 94.7 Breakfast Xpress team and Imperial call on parents to donate their used car seats and help less fortunate families to keep their children safe in the car.

OAKDENE – Over the last three years, 947, in partnership with Imperial, has chosen to highlight the importance of child safety during October, which is Transport Month, through the collection, refurbishment and redistribution of car seats.
Thousands of seats have been shared with those who need them through the campaign and many more families will receive the gift of safety in 2014.
Niki Cronje, Group Marketing at Imperial encourages all South Africans to join in again this year and get their car seats ready before the drive begins.
Cronje says: “If we consider that approximately 250 children die a year in South Africa because they were not strapped in, it is clear that a need exists to increase education around not only strapping a child in, but also ensuring that their child is placed in the correct seat for their weight.”
Samantha Cowen, presenter for the Breakfast Xpress on 947 says: “If you have a used car seat being stored in your garage, we urge you to pull it out, dust it off and donate it to the cause. Remember that the car seat should be in good working order. Your seat will then be re-upholstered, safety-checked and cleaned to ensure it is safe to use and comfortable, before being handed onto families who cannot, in many cases, afford to purchase a new car seat.”
The Car Seats for Kids with Imperial is back with 947’s Breakfast Xpress team and drop off points have been set up across Gauteng.
This successful initiative helps provide assistance to less fortunate families in need of keeping their kids safe in the car.
The drop off point closest to you is The Glen. It will be open on October 1 between 07:00 and 16:30.
