How to Partake in the Resource Efficiency Pilot Programme.
The Sustainable Tourism Partnership Program (STPP) is a non-profit company established to facilitate the implementation of Sustainable Tourism Practices in Smaller Accommodation Establishments (SAEs) and Tourism SMMEs across South Africa.
The aim of the programme is to contribute significantly to the objectives of National Tourism Sector Strategy as well as the National Development Plan Vision 2030. In addition, the programme is closely aligned to the recommendations from the United Nations Environmental Programme, which shifts the focus of sustainable tourism development to SMMEs, which includes SAEs.
As a collaborative “how-to” programme, the STPP uses tourism as a catalyst for local economic development. It demonstrates to tourism sector stakeholders at local, regional and national level how leveraging off local uniqueness, forming stronger collaborative partnerships and working across multiple sectorial disciplines can bring about meaningful change.
