Bridging the gap in early childhood education

The ladies are ready, trained and legal

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Practitioners celebrated their graduation at the Malusi Centre Mulbarton on Saturday the October 25 in the Early Childhood Education’s four years curriculum training.

ECD (Early Childhood Development) forum in the Southern District congratulates all practitioners who participated in the birth of the four years curriculum training, a momentous occasion for a group of committed practitioners.

The day was filled with excitement, tears and laughter as extended families and friends joined in to show their support and appreciation to their loved ones.

The graduations started with a warm presentation from Samantha Retief, ECD Southern District Chair Person, who explained to the group the importance of putting children first by ensuring quality care in education for communities’ most vulnerable.

She further encouraged the practitioners and congratulated them on their success; and on making a willful decision to finish what they started.

She motivated them by saying that nothing is impossible if they have “Prayer, People, Passion and Purpose” in their corner.

Lorraine Patterson from Teacher Learning Centre emphasised the importance of taking what they have learnt and applying it by implementing it in their respective classrooms; she also cheered them on not to stop growing and to take the next step into furthering their education by completing their NQF levels.

The forum has been committed to bridging the gap in early childhood education, by ensuring that quality care for our children is put first.

The aim is to create opportunities for excellence in practice for practitioners, day mothers, community development workers and trainers who provide a critical and integral service in the development of the little ones.

Through rigorous training; committed educators and partnership with various stakeholders within the ECD sector, the forum is able to facilitate and help narrow the gap.
