JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – SAPS had their hands full over the weekend with incidents of housebreaking reported in various areas in the South, with Glenvista seemingly being the hardest hit.
According to reports by Mondeor Sector 2 CPF and Glenvista CPF at least six incidents were reported over the weekend of January 30 to February 2.
“GCF Alert – according to our crime intelligence residents on Budack Avenue and those bordering the veld such as Mogg and Galana roads, Glenvista X4, to be on the alert for housebreakers operating overnight, especially between 02:00- 04:00, from the veld side,” warned the Glenvista CPF on their Facebook page.
On February 2, Century21 Estate Agent, Trevor Sturgess notified residents that a house was broken into on Du Toit Street in Kibler Park. Mondeor SAPS attended to the scene, where the owner of the home broken into had chased the suspects, but could not catch them.
The resident crashed his company vehicle through the wall of another home on Gordon Road between Pieter Place and Pierpont. A fire engine also attended to the scene.
