GDE responds on Glenvista Primary School
A Glenvista resident is angry about the new school which will open sometime in the next few months on the corner of Laubscher and Stegman streets, Glenvista ext 4.
GLENVISTA – “DA ward councillor, Paul Smit, did attend a meeting late last year and he said the new school buildings will be brought to the designated land and will not be brick built buildings. If this is indeed true, the structures may decrease the value of all the houses in Glenvista; thus the action by the GDE appears to be defiant to the extent that wilful interaction, notice and collaboration with the residents of the Glenvista area has not been undertaken, neither have any correct development procedures been followed.
“Clr Smit reiterated publicly again at a house meeting held on November 26, 2014, a concerned residents public house meeting, that he has not been provided with any information or plans about the proposed school that is going to be built by either the local City Council nor the Department of Education.
“It is time that we as people of the community must stand together against people of power and show them that they can’t ignore or violate the Constitution of South Africa of 1996,” he said.
