A taste of grandeur and wealth
At the April meeting of Eikenhof Women’s Institute, members enjoyed a talk and video on American Beauties who Saved Britain’s Stately Homes.
SUIDEROORD – Guest speaker, Teresa John, president of Mondeor Women’s Auxiliary, gave a wonderful talk about wealthy American socialites who went over to the United Kingdom in the 1900’s, in the hope of “catching” herself a man with a title.
Teresa also spoke about the popular British TV series, Downton Abbey, sharing her wealth of information about the series with the members. It was a very interesting morning, enjoyed by all.
Eikenhof WI hold monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month and enjoy guest speakers, interesting craft mornings and lots more. “We are looking for new members to join us and welcome young and old,” said president Joy Boswell.
