JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A missing person’s report, filed at Mondeor Police Station, left a concerned mother reeling following the gruesome discovery of the bodies of her son, grandchild and another family member.
A 42-year-old man, his 11-year-old son and his two-year-old nephew, were all found dead in separate locations in Johannesburg. The man was discovered at his home in Naturena, on July 9, after Mondeor police broke down the door to the house. He was found in one of the rooms with head injuries.
The bodies of the two children were found in a white BMW in Germiston.
The national police communications officer, Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale, said: “A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a 42-year old-man, his son and his nephew, were found dead. It is alleged that the deceased’s mother opened a missing person’s case at Mondeor on Thursday, after she hadn’t heard from him since Monday, July 6. Whilst she was at the station, Germiston police called asking for assistance regarding an abandoned white BMW whose owner resides in the Mondeor area.”
The suspect appeared in court on Monday, July 13. The case was postponed until July 20.
Further investigations are underway to determine the cause of death of the two children.
