Successful convictions of Mondeor SAPS cases

20 years imprisonment for house robbery suspect

ON July 23, Nkosinathi Ndlovu (31) was convicted of housebreaking and theft and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.

The housebreaking and theft occurred on February 21, 2011, at the Delmonte complex in Lambert Road, Ridgeway.

Ndlovu was only apprehended in 2013 in Honeydew in connection with another housebreaking. The case was assigned to Constable Latisa Malebane of the Mondeor Detectives Services for further investigation.

Sicelo Gumede (34) was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for house robbery by the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on July 31.

On November 13, 2013 Gumede accosted and robbed the complainant of his safe and cash while in the garage of his house in Musgrave Street, Kibler Park. Gumede was arrested on the same day by Constable Jethro Netshikweta when he responded to the house robbery.

The case was assigned to Sergeant Zoleka Hlela of Mondeor Detectives Services for further investigation.

The Detective Branch Commander Lieutenant Colonel Haasbroek would like to commend both investigating officers for their efforts throughout the investigation and welcomed the convictions.
