A MAN and two girls, believed to be ten years of age, were injured on Tuesday morning August 11, following a collision at the Stanton and Garden Road intersection in Turffontein

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, responded to the scene, and on their arrival found on motor vehicle on the side of the road next to a nearby shop while the second vehicle sat in the intersection.

Russel Meiring from ER24 said, “When paramedics assessed the scene, they found the driver of the first vehicle lying outside his vehicle in a critical condition. Two girls from the second vehicle were also found outside their vehicle, both having sustained moderate injuries. Paramedics set out treating the patients as well as providing the critically injured patient with advanced life support interventions.”

Once treated, the critically injured patient was transported to a private hospital while the two girls were transported to Baragwanath Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
