Rental agencies are robbing tenants – Resident writes

I wish to know how they bill electricity.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Following an article in the COURIER (Rental Agents vs Private Landlords, October 27), I have to say that I have been a tenant in Turffontein for more than a decade and I’ve moved from flat to flat for a while now, all because of security reasons and electricity bills.

I used to think rental agency run flats are better but that was before I moved into one. The agents take long to fix things and when you call them they are rude and I am talking about an agency which is well-known in the South.

I wish to know how they bill electricity because it is way too much for a family of four to pay R800 when they are mostly at work and the kids are at school during the day. I honestly think agencies rob tenants of a lot of money.
