Notice of road closure
Take note of the following road closures in the Turffontein area.
Road users are hereby notified of a road closure at the intersection of Geranium, Turf Club, Main streets and Turf Road in Johannesburg South due to an upgrade of this intersection.
The contractor will make provision for residents and businesses to be able to access their properties during the planned road closure.
Motorists wanting to access businesses in the vicinity are required to find alternative parking as they will not be allowed to park in the area. The contractor will make provision for deliveries to shops at the intersection.
Motorists are urged to use alternative routes as follows: Turf Road, 3rd Street, 2nd Street, Diagonal Street, Prairie Street, Petunia Street, Main Street, Donnelly Street, Lyndhurst Street and Turf Club Street. Refer to the attached drawing which shows the alternative routes.
The entire intersection will be closed from Wednesday, November 18 until Friday, December 11.
The project is being undertaken in a built up area. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to be cautious. Signage will be erected to guide vehicles and pedestrians throughout the construction period and all road users are urged to obey these.
