Ceiling caves in at Truworths

THE powerful hail storm that swept across the city and surrounds on Monday, November 16, led to the widely reported damage to Southgate Mall’s Truworths store.

“It has been confirmed by the management of Southgate, that gutters overflowed and water built up in the ceiling resulting in the collapse of the Truworths ceiling. There was no damage to the Mall’s roof structure and no customers and staff were injured,” explained Nozipho Kumalo from Southgate’s marketing department.
