Abandoned: Babies desperately need your donations
For sixteen years Door of Hope has been playing a major role in making a difference one child at a time.
JOHANNESBURG SOUTH: The season of giving is upon us and the babies of Door of Hope could benefit a great deal from the helping hands of residents and organisations.
Donations are needed urgently at the home.
The home, based in Glenvista and Mulbarton, is reaching out to residents and companies for donations which are needed for the essential care of the babies. Door of Hope relies solely on donations and volunteers aid.
Marcelle Coertze , media liaison officer of Door of Hope, said the children have enough toys for now and they have a wish list of resources they are in urgent need of for November. The list includes: NAN 1, NAN 2, nappies (sizes medium and large), DisChem vouchers for medicines, Milton’s sterilising liquid, portable CD player/radio, hair clippers, 2016 diaries (sizes A5 and A4) and baby soap bars.
For 16 years Door of Hope has been playing a major role in making a difference one child at a time, putting a huge dent in the demand caused by the escalating problem of abandoned babies and a shortage of homes.
Adele Gouws, of Jolly Patrolly Party Shop in Alberton, has offered to collect clothes, toiletries, nappies and consumables on the behalf of Door of Hope, so residents can drop off donations at Shop 2, Randhart Shopping Centre, General Alberts Avenue in Randhart.
For more information about the project or to drop off of your donations, contact Adele Gouws on 079 497 3668.
