JMPD officer shot in Rosettenville

The officer was off-duty and JMPD and SAPS are investigating the motive behind the shooting.

AN off-duty JMPD traffic officer was shot in Rosettenville on Thursday night, April 21. JMPD and SAPS are still investigating to determine the motive.

“The police officer was shot in the left knee, by suspects in Rosettenville. Motive for the shooting has not yet been confirmed and the incident will be investigated further,” said Superintendent Wayne Minnaar, JMPD spokesperson.

“The police officer was shot at the corner of Main Street and Zania Street. The victim was taken to hospital and a case of attempted murder has been opened. No one has been arrested yet and the matter is still under investigation,” said Constable Olwethu Nose from Moffatview SAPS.
