Where is service delivery?

Mrs Fawzia Mayet said it has been over a year since they last cut the grass in that part of the street.

STEFANUS Street in Ridgeway towards the cul-de-sac is becoming a problem for residents because of the long grass and dumping.

Fawzia Mayet said it has been over a year since the grass was cut in that part of the street. “We are ratepaying residents, we do not deserve this. I mean I have been pushed from pillar to post and no one wants to take responsibility. Our ward councillor couldn’t help us either. The long grass and the dumping continue unabated. As a result rats are coming into our house. I cannot put down rat poison as we have children in the yard. We don’t know who to vote for because no one cares.”

Ward 54 Clr Sergio Dos Santos said he can confirm that he spoke to Mayet but she is incorrect in saying that he told her there was nothing he could do about it.

“I told her that I am aware of the problem as another resident had reported the same issue not long before she contacted me. I told her that it has been reported to City Parks for assistance but to date I have been unsuccessful in having it cut,” explained Clr Dos Santos.
