GDE ‘has met its promise’ to place learners

In total, 331 625 applications were processed by the department and 327 369 learners have been placed.

THE Gauteng Department of Education is pleased to announce that the number of unplaced learners that applied online had been substantially reduced to 377 by Thursday, February 9.

The department received 19 536 new applications in January and, to date, 15 657 learners have been placed in a space of two weeks, leaving a balance of 3 879 unplaced learners.

In total, 331 625 applications were processed by the department and 327 369 learners have been placed.

The department is satisfied with the progress made and believes that it has fulfilled its promise to find spaces for learners. More effort will be directed to placing all unplaced learners.
