AACL to the rescue

The dog is a mixed breed and about four months old.

A CONCERNED resident of Roseacre contacted the Animal Anti Cruelty League (AACL) to report the sound of a dog crying behind his back wall, which borders the N12 highway, on Saturday morning, February 25.

Inspector Denton Infield climbed over the wall and found that a dog had fallen into an open manhole.

The distraught animal was rescued and is now in the care of the AACL. It is a mixed-breed and about four months old.

Infield warned of the dangers of removing manhole covers, to small children and animals who could be at high risk of sustaining serious injury, even drowning if the manhole happened to be filled with rain water.

If you suspect the rescued dog is your lost pet, contact the AACL kennels on 011 435 0672 and/or email adoptions@aacl-jhbnb.co.za and kennels@aacl-jhbnb.co.za.
