Cancer made her strong

SUE Moodley entered the Mrs Commonwealth South Africa pageant because cancer has had a big impact on her life and she wants to educate people about the disease.
She is the owner of Pluminco Trade, in Robertsham, a wholesale supplier to the building trade.
“In 2009, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It is an emotional roller coaster watching someone you love battle this unforgiving disease. I had a young child, my business was in its prime and I was juggling chemotherapy and doctor’s visits with my mom, who was losing the battle with the disease. Emotionally, I was a wreck. I look back now and I don’t know how I ever got through those dark days,” she said.
“I honestly cannot say that I would have become the person I am today without knowing cancer. It’s allowed me to become a pillar and I plan on using my success in business to become a community leader; a woman driven. If you can dream it, you can achieve it,” said Sue.

Now, this successful entrepreneur has decided to give back and a way for her to share her knowledge and path to success with others was by entering the Mrs Commonwealth 2017 pageant. The pageant supports Pink Drive, an NGO which raises breast cancer awareness.
