Prenita ready for Mrs SA title

The country can expect a real, relatable and bona fide woman who has experienced life.

THE 25 finalists in the Mrs South Africa pageant were sashed at a prestigious Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) gala event, at Emperors Palace, on April 28. Among them was Prenita Reddi, from Glenanda.

Who is Prenita Reddi?

I am 37 years old and a mother of three, married an amazing person, Vinesh Reddi. I have two degrees – a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master’s in Business Leadership. I am a driven and passionate individual who loves attaining my goals and own my own cross-border transport business. I’m an avid traveller.

What are your hobbies?

Reading, travel blogging, spending time with my family and shopping, of course.

How has your Mrs SA journey been?

Exhilarating and life changing. It has pushed my personal boundaries, allowed me to face my fears, have new experiences and form closer bonds with like-minded women. I am not a different person but I can definitely say that I am becoming a better version of myself, every step of the way.

What does it mean for you to become Mrs South Africa?

It is important for me not to only be a role model for married women, but also an inspiration to unmarried women, divorced women and single mothers too. I believe a person is not defined by their current circumstances, but rather by the belief one has in yourself. I believe that a woman that is properly motivated can reach for the stars.

What can the country expect from you?

The country can expect a real, relatable and bona fide woman who has experienced life. I have been through ups and downs and highs and lows but I have risen with my head held high because of my persistence and my belief in myself. I know that my experiences and my journey have made me who I am and I embrace that. I am living proof that your current circumstances don’t define you.

You are a ‘blended’ family. Tell us about this.

Blended families are becoming more and more common and it is very important that we handle these situations carefully as they have a huge impact on the children involved. It may not always be easy, but my advice is to maintain communication and mutual respect and handle all situations involving children with plenty of love and patience, as you are their role models.

Any final thoughts?
